I am not a big fan of rap either. One time, I had to do a community service unit during the last two weeks of school (there were many choices, but I did the community service one. don't ask why ). It was filled with people who loved Rap/Hip-Hop & R&B. It was driving me insane because that would be what we would listen to while we were making stuff for old people and under privaleged people.

Naaa...rap is not my thing either. Most of it just gets on my nerves, and anyone could write the lyrics for most of it. I do look for a more indepth meaning in music, such my fascination for Green Day. Their music is so emotionally inclined...that's why it grabs me so. ^^

Rap just makes me want to push an elephant off a cliff. Except I'd rather try doing that than have to suffer through rap. I agree with you (like always, you make such good points ) about the more indepth music...

Well, that's how I see Green Day. Their music speaks truth, and about life itself, which as anyone knows is certainly not easy for anyone to live. That's how they write, by experience. I know, for I am a writer too. You write something like that...everyone can relate to it in some way. ^^

This is very true! Even my dad and I were listening to a song (I don't remember which one...) but he even said himself, "I guess people like this song because it is a true story and they can relate to it" and I agree... \:P

Yep, that would be exactly it. My dad one time cracked me up because he said he hated Green Day, but then one day after that, we were talking of "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and he was all like, "yeah it kinda grows on you after a while." I just laughed.
